This is an important update from the Mount Hermon Association regarding the closing of all camps this summer.
April 24, 2020
Dear Mount Hermon Resident,
I am deeply saddened to tell you that Mount Hermon will be closed for the entire summer in our three local sites – Conference Center, Ponderosa Lodge, and Redwood Camp. On Monday, April 20, we received word from the County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency that we will not be allowed to have campers at Mount Hermon in any capacity this summer due to the Covid-19 spread. Although disappointed, our Board of Directors and Trustees believe that the County is acting in the best interest of people and their health, which goes along with Mount Hermon’s longstanding efforts to ensure a healthy environment for all campers, staff and residents.
Due to these realities our camp facilities will be closed (unless otherwise noted) and there won’t be season registration for our residents. Common areas will be open as per the conditions allowed by our county. The pools will be closed, as well as our Ponderosa Lodge and Redwood Camp properties. We have not yet made a decision about our Book Shop. We ask you to please abide by all county requirements with regards to Covid19 in order to protect Mount Hermon from the spread of the virus. Let’s be vigilant as neighbors and care for those around us. Thank you.
God has been faithful to Mount Hermon for 114 years, and that’s certainly not going to stop now. We’ll get through this together and be back together soon.
With care (and some tears),
Mike Romberger
