Bill Fernald is the Vice President of Guest Care with Mount Hermon Association (MHA) and he would love to give all residents the opportunity to participate in summer activities. Here’s his message:

Some have asked me why the Summer Pass is necessary. It is optional if you don’t want to do anything with the Conference Center, but there are two reasons to have one. There’s a lot of fun things you can do this summer with your family! But, there is also a legal reason. The State of California has set up laws that prohibit strangers to be in the same location as children. This is why you can no longer just walk through Redwood Camp. For the safety of the children, it is important for us to wear a name badge and identify ourselves, when at the Conference Center, as safe people and not strangers. The Summer Concert Series on Saturday nights is an exception to this (see below). Sign up soon!
Camp Noise on the Field
Dave Burns is the Director of Adult Ministries with MHA and wants you to know there will be some activities on the field this summer which will make some noise. If you’re new to Mount Hermon, take advantage of his treat to Marianne’s Ice Cream!
Here’s his message:
“In the last couple of years there have been numerous home sales with some purchasers having a great knowledge of Mount Hermon Association (MHA) and the Conference Center activities that have taken place over the course of more than 100 years! Others may not be aware of that history and the countless families who come for Family Camps during the summer. Typically, each summer has outdoor activities that include games on the field in front of the Fieldhouse. This year we will be doing the same. Because of amplified sound on the field, we wanted to make our outdoor schedule for the summer known to all residents. If this is your first summer living in Mount Hermon, please contact me so I can treat you to Marianne’s Ice Cream served in our Fountain/Snack Shop!

Fun Day
This summer, Saturday, August 13th, we are having a Fun Day for the whole Mount Hermon community at Redwood Camp! It will be from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. You can bring your own lunch and picnic on the field or tables (no food is provided). Redwood Pavillion is available for basketball, ball games, board games, etc. There will also be lawn games on the meadow and you can also access the creek/beach, the playground, and swimming pool. The pool will be open from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Tell your neighbors and let’s meet up for a fun-filled afternoon!
A Few Announcements
Please, watch your speed as you drive around Mount Hermon. There are kids playing and people are walking on the streets. Drive safe!
We’ve been collecting suggestions for the Offices of MHC President and Secretary the last few months. If you know of someone you think would do a good job, email their name and info to Tim Galleher, Chair of the Nominating Committee, at [email protected]. We would like to have all the names in by the end of June. We will be voting on the new officers at our Fall MHC General Meeting, October 18th. All the information can be found on our website under Board of Directors & Bylaws at https://mounthermoncommunity.com/board-of-directors/.
Thanks,
Reggie Coates
